In summer 2014 Engagers was hired by First Gulf Corporation, a leader in commercial and industrial real estate, to create the engagement strategy for the master planning phase of their development project for downtown Toronto.
Their mission is to build a world class business, retail and event destination, revitalizing Toronto’s waterfront and transforming a former industrial park into a vibrant, modern neighbourhood that will bring jobs and services to the surrounding communities.
By engaging community organizations and stakeholders, Engagers went beyond traditional engagement to ensure that the development plan would serve all stakeholders. We began the process by having local community and advocacy groups lead the client on a tour of the community to outline their hopes and concerns for the project. This earned the support and trust of the local community.
This strategy has the project off to a strong start, and we look forward to seeing the next stages.
